croatian language guide at www.hr
The largest Croatian directory on the web www.hr has a guide about Croatian language. Their site is mainly about Croatian phrases, and there's really lots and lots of them. They come in handy when you're in Croatia and, for instance, want to order a meal in a restaurant. Plus, there are sound recordings for each and every phrase. Also, their pronunciation page is especially worth mentioning because it offers an in-depth look into pronunciation of Croatian letters, words and so on. What's great as well is that the whole site is available in Russian too!

bertelsen croatian language resource
This site is run by a student of Croatian language who is not a native Croatian so it has a couple of errors. However, thanks to helpful people most have been corrected. The site itself contains phrases with audio recordings (the speaker's Croatian is accented so know this is not how native speakers would pronounce it) and most importantly the site offers an insight into Croatian grammar which is rare to find on the internet. Very interesting is the conjugation patterns page where you can learn how to conjugate most regular verbs.

digital dialects croatian
Digital Dialects Croatian is an interesting site for improving your Croatian vocabulary via means of fun flash games. As of yet there are 7 games each with its own theme like fruit, animals, items, colours, etc. For instance, in the animals game, you are shown 3 pictures of animals and an animal's name. You then have to decide which animal it is by clicking on one of the pictures. A very useful site!

A language is a method of communication. Human spoken and written languages can be described as a system of symbols (sometimes known as lexemes) and the grammars (rules) by which the symbols are manipulated. The word "language" is also used to refer to common properties of languages. Language learning is normal in human childhood. Most human languages use patterns of sound or gesture for symbols which enable communication with others. There are thousands of human languages, and these seem to share certain properties, even though every shared property has exceptions. There is no defined line between a language and a dialect, but it is often said that a language is a dialect with an army and a navy, a statement credited to Max Weinreich. Humans and computer programs have also constructed other languages, including conlangs such as Esperanto, Ido, Interlingua, Klingon, programming languages, and various mathematical formalisms. These languages are not necessarily restricted to the properties shared by human languages. Translate languages for free. Linguistics experts.
